Astronomical Significance of the Creekside Village Great Kiva: Prehistoric Time Keeping

David Greenwald will be presenting on the Astronomical Significance of the Creekside Village Great Kiva: Prehistoric Time Keeping as part of the Launch Pad series. Presentation starts at 9:00 AM in the New Horizons Dome Theater and Planetarium. During this presentation, I will share our interpretations from ongoing investigations about how the ancient Jornada Mogollon monitored the sun’s passage across the eastern horizon from the great kiva to track the annual cycle of the sun, monitoring seasonal events that relate to agriculture.
